A truck driver has died after a crash on the Hume Fwy near Avenel.
Police are investigating a fatal crash in Avenel on Wednesday, July 30.

Emergency services were called to the Hume Fwy, near the intersection of Lambing Gully Rd, after a truck went down an embankment and crashed into trees at about 1pm.
The truck caught fire following the crash, and the driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the crash, which led to the closure of all southbound lanes of the Hume Fwy from Violet Town to Seymour.
One southbound lane remains closed past the crash site south of Avenel.
This lane closure is under the control of emergency services and will re-open when investigations are complete and it’s safe to do so.
