Further industrial action by the Rail, Tram and Bus Union was held on Friday, March 8, involving a full train network closure for 13 hours between 3am and 4pm.
A few coaches ran from the first service until about 5pm.
There were significant delays of two hours or more, including extended wait and travel times due to the limited number of coach replacements.
A limited number of coaches ran from first to last service between Shepparton, Seymour and Southern Cross.
No coach replacements stopped at metropolitan suburbs, and the express ran from Donnybrook to Southern Cross.
Meanwhile, the Albury line had a limited number of coaches running until 5pm between Albury and Southern Cross, not stopping at Broadmeadows.
The Albury line restored train services at 5.27pm from Albury to Southern Cross and 6.02pm from Southern Cross to Albury.
Meanwhile, train services did not return on the Seymour, Shepparton, Swan Hill, Echuca and Maryborough lines due to trains being out of position.
V/Line thanked the passengers for their patience.
