Our state speakers have been selected

Ten students, their families, friends, teachers and Lions members attended, including students Rose Wiles representing Tocumwal and Imogen Harris representing Finley.

Year 3/4 students presented their prepared three minute speech about their ‘Favourite Fairytale or Book Character’.

Year 5/6 gave a four minute speech on the most influential person in their life, and also had 10 minutes to prepare a one minute speech answering ‘What is your favourite book and why?’

After much deliberation, judges Fran Hatty, Aimee Snowden and Chris Kelly selected Sophie Burrell from Lavington and Adeline Martin from Barham-Koondrook as the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 winners respectively.

Both will now go on to represent the district and their respective towns and school at the state final on September 22 in Wangaratta.
