The Victorian Government provided $225,625 from the 2020-21 minor works capital fund to upgrade the exterior perimeter fence in an effort to improve staff and student security.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said nearby families could now enjoy the new facility upgrade at Numurkah Primary School.
“We’re making sure that our schools have the best facilities, our classrooms have the best teachers and that every child is given every chance to succeed,” he said.
The Victorian budget 2022-23 invested $41.8 million in the fund to improve learning spaces as well as the condition and character of schools.
Over the past eight years, the government has invested $12.8 billion in new schools and school upgrades, creating an estimated 17,400 jobs in construction and associated industries.
It has also committed to delivering 100 new schools between 2019 and 2026, with 75 new schools opening between 2019 and 2024.
Education Minister Natalie Hutchins said efforts had been made to ensure children had access to the facilities they needed for their education.
“Victoria’s school building boom is all about making sure our kids have the classrooms, and the bright futures they deserve,” she said.
