The first ever Murchison Indoor Market is happening this Saturday, July 26, and it’s packed with creativity, community spirit and one-of-a-kind finds you won’t want to miss.
Solely organised and funded by Neighbourhood House Murchison, the event is expected to draw crowds from across the region.
Visitors can expect a fantastic variety of stalls, with something for all ages and interests.
From coffee, tea, milkshakes and a sizzling sausage barbecue, to baked goods such as breads, pastries, donuts and loaded cookies — the food offerings alone are worth the trip.
There will be promotional items, kids’ clothes and toys, handmade cards and clothing, bric-a-brac, croc charms, dog coats, pet biscuits and treats, as well as knitted beanies and more.
Shoppers can also explore a variety of handmade and unique items including relishes, jams, pottery, recycled clothing, resin products, kids’ quilts, succulents, handmade goods, tyre sculptures, jewellery, books, LED lighting and 3D-printed products.
Neighbourhood House manager Jessie Boer said there would be something for the whole family — whether you’re looking to purchase goods or take part in one of the many activities on offer.
“It’s going to be a fantastic market,” she said.
“There’ll be activities for younger children and teenagers, plus live music to add to the atmosphere.
“One of our goals at the neighbourhood house is to create events that bring people together, so we’re really excited to see this one come to life.”
Stephanie and Lucy Ludlow, identical twin sisters known as ‘The Ludlow Twins’ from Shepparton, will be sharing their musical talents free of charge at this Saturday’s market.
While they’re performing as a gesture of support, the event will be treated like a busking session, with visitors welcome to make a donation.
Neighbourhood House Murchison will also be adding to the fun, with lolly bags, lucky dips and a raffle, with proceeds going towards funding the popular Christmas Carols and Market in December.
Volunteers from the neighbourhood house will be on hand throughout the day, helping ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.
“It’s the perfect way to spend a winter’s day — indoors, surrounded by family, friends and community spirit,” Jessie said.
“It’s also a great opportunity to support local stallholders and enjoy everything the market has to offer.”
The market will run from 9am to 1pm this Saturday, July 26 at the Community Hall, 10 Watson St, Murchison.
