There were plenty of pinky fingers up on Friday, May 9, when more than 100 tea-lovers piled into the Kyvalley Hall for the now annual Mother’s Day High Tea.

There was a lot to celebrate on the day for those who attended: many cherishing their mums who they attended with, others relished in the success of the event that went perfectly.
The Kyvalley Park and Pool Committee organised the fundraiser to ensure the pool opens during warmer months, providing a safe swimming environment for children and keeping them away from hazardous channel waters.
Committee president Stuart Williams said the sold-out event was well received by all who attended and even businesses which sponsored the event felt the love.
“The hall was full, we didn’t have a spare seat in the house,” he said.
“It will have been a very profitable event for the committee and it all goes directly back into the park and pool, which we are all very grateful for.”
He said the Red Hatters, whose crimson fascination took up most of the air space in the hall, were a main contributor to the sell-out crowd on the day.
Attendees were treated to as much tea as they could ingest and plenty of country cakes and baked goods to eat.
Journalist Jemma Jones was among the tea, cakes and red hats to capture the day in all of its tea-licious glory.
