Morning tea for Geoff, Denise

An intimate morning tea was held at The Crossing Cafe on Wednesday to officially present some special Deniliquin Business Chamber awards.

Neither Denise Phillips or Geoff Riley could attend the chamber’s Business Excellence Awards on August 26 to accept.

Mrs Phillips, owner of My Shop, was presented with the Chamber Champion award.

“I’m very grateful for the award, and I feel lucky to have been involved in the community with amazing people,” she said.

“Geoff and I have been working together for such a long time and I enjoy the feeling I get being involved in the community.”

Mr Riley was presented with the inaugural Norm Brennan Community Contribution Award.

“This award means a lot to me, because of the wonderful man that Norm was and the projects we worked on together,” he said.

Attending the morning tea to celebrate Mr Riley and Mrs Phillips were chamber executive members and staff.

Also invited to be part of the morning was Mr Brennan’s wife Linda, Edward River Council Mayor Peta Betts and Councillor Pat Fogarty.
