Merlino criticised for ‘flying under radar’

Protester and founder of the Stop Shepparton’s New Super School Facebook page Robyn Boschetti said it was disappointing the community was not made aware of Education Minister James Merlino’s visit yesterday.

‘‘It is disappointing that James can come up here and fly under the radar announcing this to the community but the community knew nothing about it,’’ she said.

‘‘We have asked for meetings but have had no response.’’

Ms Boschetti said the minister was not delivering any new facts or answering the questions of many.

‘‘We can prove that all these merged schools don’t work,’’ she said.

‘‘He says we’re getting a new school to address the poor grades and NAPLAN results but if you have a look at the recent results, it’s not good anywhere across Victoria.

‘‘What he is saying isn’t adding up again.’’
