The Deniliquin RSL King’s Birthday long weekend Bowls Tournament returned with great success after the Covid imposed absence of the past two years.
Deniliquin RSL Club Bowls Tournament coordinator Gary Koopman and Deniliquin RSL Bowls president Tony Tonta were both thrilled with the support from visiting and local bowlers.

Strong fields on all three days ensured top class bowls with local participants featured amongst the winners on all days.
Visitors were appreciative of the top class greens and the hospitality of their Deniliquin hosts and the efforts of club committee members and volunteers.
The Deniliquin RSL Bowling Club acknowledged the support of their sponsors – The Purtill Group, Deniliquin RSL Club, Pre-Mix King, Baker’s Delight and West Coast Bowls.
The assistance and cooperation of the Deniliquin Bowling Club for the use of their greens over the weekend and umpire Mark Law was also appreciated.
Saturday’s winners were Kyabram’s John Hauesler and Michael Williams and Deni’s own Peter Liefting.
Runners-up were Deniliquins’s Terry Taylor, Linda Harris, Mark Quor.
Sunday’s winners were Neville Bowland, Gary Beckham and Leigh Robertson of Eaglehawk.
Runners-up were Ryan Jones, Nick Oakes and Shane Jones of Bareena BC from Geelong.
Tied for third was the team Ocean Grove and Deniliquin BC.
Monday’s winners were Terry Taylor, Chris Taylor, Mark Quor from Deniliquin.
Runners-up were Greg Lodge, Rick Ainsworth, Ian May from Wakool.
Third place was Echuca’s Ivan Hicks, Deni’s Mick Donohue and Trevor Liddell also from Echuca.
