Locals fly in for birthday bird show

There were more than 370 birds on display, with breeders travelling from areas within a five hour drive radius of Barooga.

Finley enthusiast Bernie Thomson, who has been interested in breeding birds from an early age, was quite successful.

He took out several prizes for his hard work.

His wife Julie and daughter Shannae were also involved in the event.

The prize for the grand champion went to Tony Butt from Junee for his double factor spangled hen - one of the 30 birds Tony brought with him.
