His sponsored $500 prize had the remaining 100-plus golfers in awe of his performance.

The Lions club charity golf day is a regular on the Rich River Golf Club calendar, the major supporter of the event.
Last year the event was rained out when a freak storm hit the course.
Graeme Birch was the Lions club charity golf day chair, and was among seven or eight of the 37-strong Lions membership that tackled the west course’s 18 holes for the event.
Funds from the event were being used to support the Echuca Regional Health Cancer and Wellness Centre, but the Lions club has supported many other causes during the event’s six-year history.
Before final funds were counted Lions club officials said they expected this year to be the best year ever.
Raffles and auctions had still not been completed by the time of print.
Echuca Lions donated $10,000 to the hospital from a previous golf day, while the Vivid organisation received a $6000 donation.
The Echuca and Moama community’s support of charity golf days is renowned and several of the participants had strong links to the work of the health service on the course.
Results from the event will be in Wednesday’s Riv Herald.
