Member for Farrar Sussan Ley criticised Tuesday’s budget for coming up short on a number of important factors.
“As a regional MP, the biggest thing I always look for is money coming directly to the bush,” Ms Ley said.
“And what we see in this budget is a huge delay in rolling out any dollars for important regional development projects.
“By the time Labor gets round to it, there will be a two-year drought in funding.
“In short, they are spending less in the mid-Murray and taking longer to do it, which is hugely disappointing.
“Labor’s election commitments for Farrer are not listed, but I will be watching closely to see where the local money for domestic violence crisis support lands in Murray.”
Ms Ley, who is also the deputy Liberal leader, said the budget would do little to halt growing inflation, pointing to the $2 spent to every $1 saved in the budget.
"I call baloney on that because you cannot have this much additional spending in the way government has directed and not have it add to inflation," she said.
