I’d like to sincerely thank and congratulate Leonard James McDonald, affectionately known as Geordie, on his retirement after more than 30 years delivering mail across the Cobram-Barooga region.
Geordie has been a familiar and much-loved face in our community, clocking up nearly 1.9 million kilometres and more than 2.4 million deliveries over three decades.
His beaming smile and unwavering commitment have made him a local legend.
From early starts on the family farm to long days behind the wheel, Geordie’s work ethic and cheerful nature have left a lasting impact on everyone along his route.
He didn’t just deliver the mail; he delivered connection, reliability and kindness.
Geordie, thank you for your outstanding service.
Enjoy the well-earned rest, the sleep-ins and the sunny escape up north.
