All seven women, including Ms Fraser who lives just outside town, have long-time links to Rochester and with the support of Rochester and Elmore District Health Service, will appear as part of the Rochester Women’s Panel at the Mackay St shire hall on Friday, July 28.
Fifteen of Ms Fraser's 27 years on the force involved working with the Rape and Homicide Squads before she focussed on child abuse and sex offences.
She will be master of ceremonies for the event after being forced to withdraw from a mental health event earlier in the year.
She was due to speak at a Men’s Health evening in January, but had to withdraw from the role due to relocating from temporary accommodation as a result of being impacted by the October 2022 flood event.
She has been involved in many high profile cases, and has also gained a strong following through her podcast, the Narelle Fraser Interviews, which involved her sharing the story of her experience with last year’s floods.
While Ms Fraser is a star attraction of the event, which starts at 7pm and will include tea, coffee and supper, there are six other women on the panel.
Among them teenage netball star Teal Hocking, who has not only gained state representation in the past six months, but has also made a significant mark on the Victorian Netball League.
Rochester Community House’s award-winning manager, Amanda Logie, will also be part of the panel and Eliza Watson (of Podgy Hodgy Facebook page fame) is also a speaker.
Jess Whitlock-Dwyer, owner of Farmer and The Scientist Wines and mother of two will also be involved, as will hard-working volunteer and mother of three Megan Keating.
Rochester netball’s heart and soul, Katie Rasmussen, is also on the panel and will lend an important understanding, through her role as a primary school teacher, into the current state of mind of the next generation.
Ms Fraser will interview the Rochester women to share their unique stories and experiences for a two-hour time period, with bookings essential at https://www.trybooking.com/CJHNI
In person bookings can be made at Rochester Community House and inquiries can be made via email to healthpromotion@redhs.com.au
