The event, which will run between 9.30am-12.30pm on Thursday, March 7 at Echuca Workers, aims to connect local candidates with employers in the aged care and disability support sectors.
Everyone considering a career in these sectors is invited to update their resume and come down.
There are a multitude of jobs available on the day, including: food and domestic service assistant, patient porter, trade cook/chef, administration assistant, registered nurse, enrolled nurse, personal care worker, care organiser, disability worker, disability direct support professional, family day care and early childhood educator.
Goulburn Murray employment facilitator Faye D’Helin discussed the importance of running recruitment events for specific industries.
“I have found, if you target a recruitment event at one industry, you can guarantee that every person that walks through the door is already invested in seeking employment in that sector,” she said.
“This is a fantastic event for community members to connect directly with local employers in a relaxed environment to explore vast employment opportunities available in the care and support sector.”
Attendees can meet with employers from Echuca Regional Health, Community Living and Respite Services, Echuca Community of the Aged and Uniting AgeWell.
Bendigo TAFE Skills and Job Centre will also attend on the day to provide free assistance to jobseekers and career advice.
Ms D’Helin emphasised the importance of joining health care and social services as they are the fastest-developing areas of employment in Australia.
“Our largest employing industry is Health Care and Social Assistance. Now is the time to consider a career in this diverse and growing sector,” she said.
