Don’t ask the Shepparton Theatre Arts Group — Christmas has come early for these sprightly stage dwellers.
As part of its ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations, STAG presents Christmas in July, a not-so-silent night of traditional and contemporary carols performed on July 18 and 19 at the Bakehouse Black Box Theatre.
Bringing the cheeky cheer is director Kat Bristol and a talented ensemble of performers: Stefania Panella, Melanie Matthews, Megan Scott, Sophie Fimmel, Chris Harris, Amie Keane, Andrew Nicholls, Sean O’Brien, Kathleen Parry, Stevie Renee and Lisa Worley.
Additionally, a live band featuring Wade Gregory, Matt Head and Peter Formica will provide the musical accompaniment.
Ms Bristol said Christmas in July embodied everything STAG represented: fun, community and creativity.
“It’s a chance to make new memories, celebrate the season and mark our major milestone in a truly festive way,” she said.
So, consider STAG your holiday hostess.
Mulled wine and other beverages will be available at bar prices, and attendees are invited to bring a platter to share.
For those feeling particularly festive, a prize will be awarded for the ugliest Christmas jumper, encouraging everyone to dress for the occasion.
’Tis the season, after all.
Christmas in July is coming to town on Friday, July 18, at 7.30pm and Saturday, July 19, at 2pm and 7.30pm, at the Bakehouse Black Box Theatre, 17 Wheeler St, Shepparton.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at events.humanitix.com/christmas-in-july-2025
