Every horse in the Southern Hemisphere will celebrate their birthday on Friday, August 1, with Billabong Ranch set to join in the festivities.
If customers book a trail ride and bring a carrot to the ranch on Saturday, August 2 as a gift to the horses, their second rider will receive a half-price discount.
One of the ranch’s newest foals, Missy, who is only a few weeks old, will technically be a year older on the day.
Missy’s mum, BR Magpie, was the first coloured Clydesdale cross the ranch bred, and has a long history working in the Port of Echuca, giving carriage rides to thousands.

The ranch hopes Missy will follow in her mother’s and grandmother’s tradition, as Magpie is entering retirement.
The standardised birthday coincides with the breeding and foaling seasons, and is particularly useful for horse racing, which grades horses based on their age.
