To put it bluntly, yes, thanks to the power of the Alpha program.
Hosted by St Brendan’s Parish in Shepparton, the social initiative provides a safe, non-judgmental environment for people to explore the Christian faith and understand who God is in their lives.
The evening starts with a meal followed by a video on a particular topic and ends with a lively discussion about what was watched.
“The conversations are made with a very non-confrontational passion,” St Brendan’s Alpha co-ordinator Marie Fontana said.
“We’re a welcoming bunch of people; if someone has an opposing thought to yours, there’s no judgment – people are free to express any thoughts that come to mind.”
Over 11 weeks, all present can ask questions, share ideas, build friendships and experience the power of the Holy Spirit.
The program is built around the understanding that no two Alphas are the same, but they have three things in common: food, a video presentation and good conversation.
For those who have ever wondered if there is more to life than this and are willing to share their experiences with others, Alpha may be the beginning of that journey of exploration.
The Alpha program starts on Monday, March 18, and ends on Monday, June 10, at St Brendan’s Catholic Church, Knight St, Shepparton.
The evening begins at 6.20pm with a meal served at 6.30pm.
