Numurkah will almost certainly enter the Haisman Shield finals series with a minor premiership and double chance under its belt after securing another victory on Saturday.
A round-11 win over old Students - coupled with other top-tier Cricket Shepparton results falling their way - means the Blues are 12 points clear atop the table with two rounds remaining in the regular season.
Chasing 225 for success at Congupna Recreation Reserve, the Students put up a stern fight with bat in hand to boost their collective confidence at the crease.
Skipper Felix Odell returned to his opening role and set the day up with 35, while Callan McCabe (42), Gino Saracino (47) and Luke McPhillamy (34) also spent plenty of time in the middle on a hot day to give the Students hope of an upset win over the reigning premier.
At stages the home side was 1-70 and 4-147, but with Numurkah's spinners flying through the overs - the side's pace battery bowled just 15 between them - time was running out to reel the runs in.
As the required rate pushed higher the Blues were able to strike with regularity, captain Liam Gledhill the main destroyer with Haisman Shield best figures of 7-56 from his 20 overs.
Not only did the tweaker rip out the tail to help dismiss the Students for 185 in the 77th over, he claimed the wicket of each of the quartet to reach double figures for the opposition as well.
Shaun Downie also chimed in with 2-36 from a 22.5 over stint to help the Blues snare the final four Students wickets for just six runs.

STAR PLAYER
Liam Gledhill (Numurkah): A complete performance from the Numurkah skipper to steer his side to victory. Ripped through Old Students’ batting line up as it looked to up the ante in a tough chase after working hard to set the total on day one.
