Government introduces free virtual women’s health clinic

The service will provide women and girls of all ages with free expert medical advice, treatment and care for a range of women’s health needs.

Services include: sexual and reproductive health advice, clinical services and referrals for medical abortion, contraception, and referrals to other necessary specialists.

Through the service, referrals can also be made to mental health and wellbeing, alcohol and other drugs, and family violence community support services.

Appointments for the service are free; however, there may be a fee for prescribed medications or treatments.

Health Minister Mary-Ann Thomas said the government wanted to “make it easier” for women to receive the treatment they needed, no matter where they lived.

“There is no denying the gender health gap is real, and it disproportionately affects women living in regional or remote areas of Victoria — our new virtual women’s clinic is helping to break down this and other barriers to care,” she said.

The service runs from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and appointments can be made by calling 1300 003 224 or by submitting an online form at each.com.au/services/virtual-womens-health-clinic
