The Celtics claimed Goulburn Murray Lawn Tennis Association glory at Shepparton Lawn Tennis Club when they defeated Shepparton Pelicans 8-69 to 3-46.
After finishing atop the table in the regular season — played among the wider GM2 Mixed draw — the Celtics snared a bye through to the decider.
Alex Ceran and his team then started the grand final in fine form — and never let up to run away with a 23-game triumph.
“We won the first couple of sets and had a pretty good lead four or five matches in, probably by about 10 games,” Ceran said.
“Then we were able to have a couple of bigger wins and really secure the overall victory.”
New to the team, skipper Ceran said flexibility was the key for his side throughout the summer.
“I really enjoyed playing with new players this season, it was my first season in Shepparton,” he said.
“I really enjoyed the camaraderie.
“As the season went on I understood my partners a bit more and we rotated the combinations around a lot during the year to give everyone the opportunity to play against different opposition and game styles.”
Thomas Ranson stood out for the Celtics in the final to be named best-on-court.
“Thomas played really well, he carried me in the doubles a bit and he was clearly the best of the four on court in that match,” Ceran said.
“His forehand was on fire and he barely made any unforced errors, he was really deserving of best-on-court.
“I was really, really happy we were able to get a season up, Mark Mills and Jarrod Bingham especially did a lot of work behind the scenes for it to be able to happen and we're all really thankful.
“It was also really great to see a big turnout there on the day, even people who don't play tennis were there to see the best teams play and they saw some great games.”
