Schools across Rochester donned their brightest blues for Do It for Dolly Day, dedicated to anti-bullying and inclusion among young people.

The festivities kicked off at Rochester Primary School and Rochester Secondary College on Do It for Dolly Day on Friday, May 9.

Students at Rochester Primary School took part in a rotation of activities, with a focus on reflection, teamwork and fun.
All the while, they were wearing shades of blue, the favourite colour of Amy “Dolly” Everett, the Dolly’s Dream charity namesake.

A week later, tying in with St Joseph’s Primary School’s wellbeing week, the campus transformed into a sea of blue on Friday, May 16.
Year 5 and 6 students took the lead, facilitating activities like face and nail painting, footy, hairspraying and a photo booth.

Dolly’s Dream was created by Kate and Tick Everett after they lost their 14-year-old daughter Dolly to suicide after she suffered constant bullying.
Each year, schools, groups and individuals fundraise on Do It For Dolly Dayby wearing blue and promoting anti-bullying strategies.
