The winner of last year's inaugural Furphy Literary Award, Ruby Todd, will talk at Shepparton Library tonight, Thursday, June 17, ahead of her writing workshop on Saturday, June 26, as part of the Shepparton Festival.
Ms Todd is an award-winning fiction writer and creative arts researcher whose short story Awakening won the 2020 $15,000 Furphy Literary Award. Awakening describes the tumultuous events in a woman’s life brought to a head by the HMAS Melbourne-HMAS Voyager disaster in 1964.
Ms Todd has agreed to hold a special talk at the Shepparton Library in Welsford St tonight from 6pm as part of the Libraries After Dark program. She will discuss her experiences as an author, her writing process, and offer advice about how to write your own stories.
