TVN On-Country, a 70 per cent First Nations-owned Wodonga-based construction company, has won the title of 2025 Master Builders Victoria Regional Commercial Builder of the Year — Northern Region, for its work on the Munarra Centre.
The design of the building was inspired by Yorta Yorta totems and has deep cultural significance.
It was shaped to resemble a Murray River turtle, the landscaping surrounds are designed to reflect emu eggs, while the facade is a celebration of artwork from Yorta Yorta artists.

The project, which was completed in 2024, is the largest ever awarded by the Victorian Government to a First Nations-owned business.
TVN On-Country managing director Jebb Hutchinson said he was “immensely proud” of the social impact targets the group achieved, which had “set a benchmark for the construction industry”.
“This is the most meaningful and exciting project TVN On-Country will ever build,” he said.
Mr Hutchinson said the project team included Aboriginal trainees, apprentices and cadets who were “the next generation of construction leaders”.
“Their strength and vision will create positive generational change for First Nations people — and that’s an important legacy,” he said.
Master Builders chief executive Michaela Lihou said she was always delighted to see results delivered across “a diverse and challenging range of projects”.
“What we see in these awards right across regional Victoria time and time again, and as we’ve also witnessed in these Northern Region awards, is that our industry continues to step up with the outstanding results it delivers,” she said.
TVN On-Country will compete at Master Builders Victoria’s Excellence in Construction Awards in Melbourne on Friday, August 8.
