A more extensive overview of the fortnight of fun will be in next week’s Yarrawonga Chronicle.
Connecting parents and their children
Pregnancy is the start of a long lasting bond between parents and their children. The first 2000 days are well known to not just shape the child, but also the person who is the main caregiver. This journey requires support, time and nurturing for the caregiver and child to thrive.
Support might look like playgroups, music/rhyme programs, mental health therapy, active play, attending a yarn up, connecting with culture, accessing health services, online programs or telephone services, to name a few.
So this Friday from 9:30am until 11am, Tame Cafe is playing host to the Kids Open Play and Family Support Expo as a part of the Yarrawonga Mulwala Kids Festival.
Many Mobs, Family Care, New Remedy Therapy, Yarrawonga Mulwala Toy Library, Yarrawonga Health, Yarrawonga Mulwala Community Learning Centre, and Child and Maternal Health will be in attendance offering parents/carers and their 0 - 6 children a space to connect, play, create whilst experiencing the services our towns have to offer.
Knowing what services you may need to access can be confusing at times, but by reducing these barriers parents can access the services they need sooner. It is the hope that we shine a light on accessing help early, often and without shame or stigma.
