Some old faces returned to the dance floor, some new ones as well, amid a bigger turnout than was expected.
“It’s a great big relief and very enjoyable to get to see people come in to socialise and exercise and enjoy themselves,” Excell Dance co-owner Peter Garner said.
Mr Garner and his wife, Xing Xing, take dancers step by step through their routines.
“Slow and purposeful, to build a base,” Mr Garner said.
Mr Garner takes the more advanced class, while Mrs Garner leads the beginners.

“We want to have people feel that they've achieved something and when they have achieved something, their confidence grows,” Mr Garner said.
Their first class back was a huge success and the dancing couple are looking forward to seeing more people return to their studio.

“I’m just happy to have students that were listening to what I was teaching, all intently,” Mr Garner said.
“Nobody drifted off in thought, they were focused the whole hour.
"I felt their smiles all round, certainly those ones that have been with us before. We're happy to be back.“
