Campaspe Shire Council’s aquatic and wet play strategy will guide the creation of a sustainable and accessible aquatic service that meets community needs for the next 20 years.

And now Campaspe Shire residents can have their say on the strategy, aimed at enhancing the community’s access to aquatic facilities and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
The strategy comes in response to the evolving needs of the community and the challenges faced by existing aquatic facilities.
Council operates seven aquatic facilities, including the indoor Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre and six outdoor pools located in Kyabram, Rushworth, Lockington, Tongala, Colbinabbin and Stanhope.
The Rochester pool was decommissioned in 2022 due to flood damage and the facility reaching the end of its life expectancy.
Planning for a new aquatic facility in Rochester has started, with extensive community consultation completed.
Community feedback gathered during the recent consultation for the Jaycee Park masterplan in Kyabram will also be incorporated.
Community members can take part by completing an online survey and attending one of the facilitated drop-in sessions.

Tuesday, August 5: Rushworth IGA, 18 High St, 9am to 10.30am; Stanhope Supermarket, 1-3 Birdwood Ave, 11.30am to 1pm; Tongala IGA, 31 Mangan St, 2.30pm to 4pm; and Kyabram Woolworths, 60-66 Union St, 5pm to 6.30pm.
Wednesday, August 6: Colbinabbin General Store, 37 Mitchell St, 9am to 10.30am.
