The business workshop will be provided free to all participants.
Since speaking to the community earlier this year Dr Gordon’s six-part online video series has been a heavily utilised resource — covering everything from “coping with stress after an emergency” to post-emergency uncertainty and anxiety.
It offered strategies to manage stress and learning to trust yourself following a disaster event.
He will now offer advice to Rochester business owners and their staff, thanks to the support of Business Victoria.
The workshop will be held at the Rochester Shire Hall on Thursday, August 24, from 1pm to 3.30pm. For those unable to attend in person on the day, it is hoped a recording will be available.
Rochester Business Network is taking a lead in promoting the event and is asking all businesses to take advantage of this opportunity to learn from Dr Gordon.
Since the floods hit Rochester last year, more than 100 local businesses have been impacted.
Dr Gordon’s presentation is tailored toward business owners and their employees who have been instrumental in supporting Rochester through its flood recovery efforts at the community level.
In this workshop, he will share practical tools and strategies to help business owners and their staff navigate the recovery process, including tips for supporting those affected by the floods.
The workshop offers the chance to speak with Dr Gordon one-on-one, ask questions, share experiences, and gain tools to help the community recover from the 12-month flood anniversary and beyond.
Registrations are essential . Please email recovery@communityhouse.org.au or call RCH Flood Recovery co-ordinator Tanya McDermott on 0407 413 156 to secure a place.
