Mr Summers said the new plants had been planted in the garden last week and when he arrived for the beginning of the school week yesterday, he discovered they had been taken.
‘‘They were planted about a week ago at the school,’’ he said.
‘‘We’ve just put in (a new) building and were in the process of doing all the landscaping.’’
Having always had plans to beautify the school’s entrance garden, Mr Summers said a mixture of 18 plants were stolen at some stage over the weekend.
He said it was not only disappointing, but also disregarded the hard work of parents and friends.
‘‘You work really hard and the parents raise money to put things in and help out,’’ Mr Summers said.
‘‘The school also works hard raising money through parents and friends and we wanted to give the school an uplift.’’
Mr Summers said the theft had taken basically all of the new plants that had been diligently arranged last week.
Shepparton police Constable Lund said they were alerted about the plant theft yesterday and appealed for anyone who might have witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to phone the station on 58205777.
