By guessing correctly, Mrs Mandersloot's name was put into a draw to win a new iPhone and AirPods valued at $998, thanks to Data Parts Shepparton.
And since she currently shares her phone with husband Fred, she said it was a welcome surprise.
“Wining feels like an L-plater being given the keys to a Rolls Royce; I'm totally out of my comfort zone,” she said with a laugh.
“I was flabbergasted because I don't normally enter competitions but I happened to be flicking through the newspaper and it took me about five minutes to get the answer.”
The correct answer to the competition was ‘A Newspaper is a Town Talking to Itself'.
McPherson Media Group marketing co-ordinator Jill Muir said she was thrilled to see how many knew the correct answer.
“The answer helps spread the message we want to share with the community - that we are a town talking to itself,” she said.
Twenty-one runners-up to the competition received vouchers to be spent at Mustafa's Kebabs, JB HI-FI and Total Tools.
