It was a day dedicated to checking in, starting conversations, and supporting one another.
Over the past few weeks, players have been nominating someone from within the club who consistently checks in, looks out for others, and simply asks, “Are you OK?”
The club nominated Tess Parsons and Luke Todd as R U OK? Ambassadors for 2025.
They were each presented with a club gift card as a small token of appreciation for the impact they have on those around them.
The Deni Rams remind everyone, you don’t need to be an expert to ask the question, just a good mate and a great listener.
Golden Rivers Boxing Bout
Unfortunate news for Blake Rivers, from Golden Rivers Boxing Club, who was scheduled for a title fight in Ballarat on Saturday, July 18.
The club put on Facebook that Blake never ended up fighting due to a match up issue, as he was set to fight against someone from a different weight class.
In some positive news, Blake is set to fight at Lilydale in two weeks time.
LHAC “Lifting Health Outcomes” reminder
As mentioned previously, Deniliquin LHAC will be re-running their “Lifting Health Outcomes” talks.
The talks were held last year; however, they featured during the day, and in order to get as much information into the community two of the more popular talks, kidney disease and stroke, will be held again at 5.30 - 7pm on Wednesday, July 23.
The free event will cover signs and symptoms, what you can do, services available and reducing risk.
Presenting on kidney health will be Deniliquin Hospital renal nurse unit manager Alana Tilders.
Covering the stroke information will be Rachelle Austin, who is a Deniliquin emergency department clinical nurse specialist and a Telestroke operator.
She will also provide information on the life-saving Telestroke Service at Deniliquin Health Service.

Sunny skies and sharp shooting at Deni CTC event
It was all smiles and straight shooting at the Deni Clay Target Club on Sunday, as members and guests came together for another outstanding day of competition.
Blessed with ripper sunny weather, the targets stood out clearly across the range, giving shooters an extra edge during a challenging program of point score and handicap rounds.
Organisers praised the canteen crew whose delicious meals kept participants fuelled throughout the day and the behind-the-scenes helpers, including the setup and pack-down team and the trap fillers, whose efforts ensured the event ran smoothly.
Top honours for the day went to Pete Attard, whose exceptional performance from 25 metres in the handicap saw him take out the High Gun award.

Back to school
Yesterday was a big day for school children as they head back to start their term 3 schooling.
After two weeks off, students will be getting back into the swing of things right across NSW.
This marks a timely reminder for all drivers that school zones are back being enforced as of yesterday.
School zone speed restrictions typically apply in the morning between 8am and 9.30am and in the afternoon from 2.30pm to 4.00pm.
These apply on notified school days, including school development (pupil-free) days.
