The Coroners Court is seeking assistance from the Seymour community to resolve the year-old mystery surrounding a young man's death.

The body of Jodus Murphy, 18, was discovered on the banks of the Goulburn River in Seymour on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, one month after his last sighting.
Mr Murphy was last seen alive on Monday, May 15, 2023 between 7:30am and 9am near Abdallah Rd, Tarcombe Rd, Kennedy Crt and surrounding streets in Seymour.
On the one-year anniversary of his disappearance, Victorian Coroner John Olle is calling on the public to help trace Mr Murphy’s last known movements.
The coroner is urging anyone who saw Mr Murphy in May 2023 to come forward.
To help with the investigation, Coroner Olle has released two images of Mr Murphy taken by witnesses in Seymour on May 14 and 15, 2023.
The Coroners Court investigation into Mr Murphy’s disappearance and subsequent death has established the following timeline of his last known movements:
Mr Murphy left his home address in Seaford where he lived with his mother and siblings in the early hours of Friday, May 12, 2023.
Two days later, his family reported him missing to the Frankston Police Station, initiating a missing persons investigation.
On the evening of Sunday, May 14, 2023, Mr Murphy was captured on CCTV at Seymour Railway Station where he asked two young males what time the next train to Murchison was.
There were no trains scheduled that night and he accepted an offer from one of the males to stay overnight at his address in Seymour.
On the morning of Monday, May 15, 2023, Mr Murphy was seen by three individuals near Abdallah Rd, Tarcombe Rd, Kennedy Ct, and nearby streets in Seymour, marking the last sightings of him alive.
Two separate withdrawals were made from Mr Murphy’s bank account via a Seymour ATM, two days later on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
Victoria Police have identified the male captured on CCTV making the withdrawals and confirmed it was not Mr Murphy.
One month later, on June 14, 2023, Mr Murphy’s body was located on the banks of the Goulburn River, Seymour.
