Now local to Bendigo, Mr Duffy was born in Melbourne and migrated in his early years to London.
As a teenager, he would find refuge in the world-class London galleries, and decided to become an artist.
After a stint in the construction industry, the itch to paint needed to be scratched again, and in 1996, Mr Duffy enrolled in a Diploma of Visual Art. He then enrolled in a fine arts degree, and graduated with honours in 1999.
A first-time entrant for the Rochester Mural Festival, Mr Duffy had a dream that he would win the festival, and so, decided to enter.
“One of my friends has won it previously,” Mr Duffy said.
“My dream that I would win can’t come true if I don’t enter!”
Mr Duffy paints with bold and bright colours, and has several murals already in place around the world in this ‘pop art’ style. Some of these include pop portraits of famous people such as Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, and Debbie Harry of Blondie.
His artistic style is reflective of the concept of relationships, showing the ups and downs in a vintage, nostalgic style.
