Karina Ewer has resigned from her role as Berrigan Shire Council chief executive.
At its extraordinary council meeting on Monday, June 30, the council formally received Ms Ewer’s resignation, which will be effective from July 25.
Ms Ewer decided to resign for family reasons.
Berrigan Shire Council mayor Julia Cornwell McKean said the council is acting swiftly to appoint an interim chief executive officer to ensure continuity and stability.
“We’ll be sure to keep the community informed throughout this transition,” Cr Cornwell McKean added.
The council will hold another extraordinary meeting on Monday, July 7 to discuss the appointment of an interim chief executive.
The recruitment process for a permanent replacement will also begin without delay.
