For students interested in a career in agriculture, the upcoming Food and Fibre Careers Day is set to inspire upcoming prospects looking to become leaders in agriculture, horticulture, AgTech, and agribusiness.
The annual event is hosted by the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Science at Dookie Campus and is the largest food and fibre careers day in Victoria.
The day, which will take place on Friday, May 31, is set to attract 400 students from regional Victoria and will help students explore diverse career paths within the food and fibre industries.
Now in its ninth year, the event will feature interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and career panels led by leading scientists, industry experts and educators.
Interactive workshops and demonstrations will include various activities such as robotic dairies, drone technology, animal science, hydroponics and more.
Other practical workshops will give students real-world experience with activities like beef cattle handling, sheep shearing and viticulture.
There will also be career panels which will offer insights from entrepreneurs and professionals across various sectors, sharing their career journeys and discussing the opportunities that lie ahead in the food and fibre industries.
