Broken River and Broken, Seven and Castle creeks on flood watch

Minor to moderate flooding is possible from overnight Thursday in a flood watch area including the Broken River and Broken, Seven and Castle creeks.

According to the advice issued on Thursday afternoon, areas of major flooding are also possible in north-east Victoria from Friday afternoon.

Widespread showers were forecast across Victoria for the remainder of Thursday and a second frontal system is expected to bring further rain across the state on Friday, with heaviest falls expected in the north-east.

Low-lying areas around rivers and streams may become flooded and the community is advised to stay informed, monitor local conditions and remain alert.

A minor to moderate flood warning is current for the Murray River and minor flood warnings are also in place for the Loddon, Snowy and Kiewa rivers.
