Big day for the Terlich family at Mercury Dve

Rumbalara's Mercury Dve facility will play host to a special occasion on the football field today.

Cousins Nathan and Justin Terlich will each run out for their 150th senior game for Rumba against Moama after playing side by side for much of their respective careers.

When you add Nathan's father Dallas into the mix, the trio has racked up just short of 800 club games — across all grades — between them, an achievement of the highest order.

"It's pretty lucky how it's worked out, we're pretty proud," Nathan said.

"It is pretty special to be able to play a lot of games with my cousin, and even more at a club where my dad played so much footy as well."

Even though Rumbalara has not been able to replicate last year's Murray Football League preliminary final berth this season, Nathan feels his side will be able to bounce back up the table quickly.

"We were hoping we'd probably do a bit better this year," he said.

"But it's been a good opportunity for some younger players to get some senior games under their belt."

And even though Nathan, 28, and Justin, 26, have plenty of football left in their legs, they will greatly treasure today's joint milestone.

"I think it's pretty special, not just for me and Justin but for the family as well," Nathan said.

"It's a pretty special day for them to come over and share the milestone with us and I feel pretty lucky to be able to play with Justin. I'm pretty keen to keep playing alongside him as well."

Along with Barooga taking on Cobram, a battle between Numurkah and Deniliquin will headline the second week of the competition's split round today.
