If there’s one thing you don’t want to miss this week, it’s BETTY.

Twice a year, we explore all the different facets and themes around women, celebrating our local women for who they are and everything they do.

This edition is all about being bold, brave and brilliant.

Bold, like the women who aren’t afraid to be under the spotlight, like our leading lady Nicky Pummeroy or Shepparton’s very own Hollywood rockstar Sophie Giuliani.

We hear from women who are trailblazers in their careers and passion projects, like author Di Walker, podcasting duo Kelly Scorey and Alisha Beavis and Greater Shepparton Secondary College executive principal Barbara O’Brien.

We delve into the deep issues and hear from brave women about how they bounce back after facing some of life’s toughest challenges, like the Freeman sisters, who experienced the unimaginable loss of their mother to Alzheimer’s disease, and the Shepparton Congolese community leader Sarah Mazambi who shares her journey fleeing her home country to arriving in Australia and starting a new life for her family.

We celebrate the brilliance of women in everything they do and achieve, like our mothers who never fail to balance the world on their shoulders.

Inside BETTY, expect to find all this and more, as well as the second edition of Beats by BETTY, book recommendations, recipes and our vibrant fashion spread, featuring looks from all of our favourite businesses in the region.

So don’t forget to grab your free copy of BETTY on Friday, October 27, inside The News.
