Thanks to funding from Benalla Rural City’s Social Inclusion grant, the event was free to attend and featured an indoor tasting market with wine tastings and sales by Baddaginnie Run Wines, Baileys of Glenrowan, Taminick Cellars, Black Dog Brewery and John Gehrig Wines.
The hall smelled delicious courtesy of the hot food samples by Pavlos Catering and looked decorative courtesy of floral arrangements by Everlasting Flowers Studio, which were also available for sale.
Committee member Ulle Currie said Little Cedar Farmhouse Goat Cheese, Samaria Rose Farm and Brezel Maedle also had stalls with marinated cheeses, gift wares and baked goods.
The newly renovated Baddaginnie Hall was the perfect location for the small town;s newest event, Sip and Savour.
“And Benalla P-12 College’s Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program sold its famous jams, relishes and sauces,” she said.
“It was perfect timing just before Mother’s Day to be able to purchase gifts and treats for mothers and grandmothers.
“Thank you to all our supporters, who made the event such a success.
“It was also a social event with a great atmosphere, and the hall was filled with people from Benalla and district, as well as Baddaginnie locals.
“We were so pleased to see a number of our councillors there as well; thank you for that support.
“Another purpose of the event was to showcase our beautiful renovated hall, which has attractive original features and is ideal for family events and small exhibitions.
“Hall hire helps us to maintain and improve the hall, which is so important for small towns like Baddaginnie.”
