It’s been a magical ride for St Anne’s College students involved in the school’s production of Disney’s Aladdin JR this year.

Musical director Laura Bradbury said she was pleased to present the stage adaptation of the Disney classic, which tells the tale of a lovable thief with a heart of gold.
“Our students have been busily rehearsing since the beginning of the year and have put in so much work on bringing their characters to life,” Ms Bradbury said.
“I am incredibly grateful to the students for their commitment and passion, both on stage and off, as well as the many staff who have contributed to help bring our show to life. I am so proud of each and every one of them.”
Students take on the roles of Aladdin, Jasmine and the wisecracking Genie, as they enter a whole new world riding magic carpets, discovering mystical caves and outwitting an evil sorcerer named Jafar.
Including much-loved Alan Menken songs, such as Friend Like Me, A Whole New World and Prince Ali, and others from the Broadway version, the legendary production is suited to audiences of all ages.
Two Aladdin JR shows will be performed, on September 11 and 12, both at 7pm, at St Anne’s College, Wendouree Dve, Kialla.

Year 10 students Taj Leader and Elizabeth Jarvis, who are playing Aladdin and Jasmine in the production.
Genie will be played by Year 6 student Charlotte Merkel.
Year 9 student Bella Ryan will play the role of Kassim.
Year 12 student Charlotte Seddon has been cast as Sultan.
