Victoria has enjoyed six "doughnut" days in a row, with zero new cases and no deaths recorded once again yesterday.
The number of active cases in the entire state fell to just 20, down from 30 on Wednesday.
This puts Victoria in a strong position to reopen further on Sunday, with the regional-metro border and Melbourne's 25 km radius to be scrapped from midnight on Sunday.
Victorians are also holding their breath for Premier Daniel Andrews to potentially announce the further loosening of restrictions.
Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton flagged earlier that cap limits and density quotients for certain industries could be lifted more than initially planned.
But on Wednesday, Mr Andrews declined to indicate which restrictions would be eased.
“I can't predict what we'll announce other than what we've already outlined,” he said.
Melbourne's 14-day average for cases has fallen further to 1.4, with regional Victoria's remaining at zero.
There are now just two mystery cases in the state.
