Health care services in the region are being urged to apply for a grant from the Victorian Government's Regional Health Infrastructure Fund. The grants will fund construction and refurbishment projects, technology upgrades and state-of-the-art medical and engineering equipment.State Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said the funding aimed to ensure more regional patients were provided the world class care they needed at home.“Patients deserve the very best care, in a comfortable environment, closer to home and loved ones,” Mr Gepp said.“The Andrews Labor Government is prioritising health by backing regional doctors and nurses to deliver world-class care in the best facilities," he said. The government injected an extra $100 million into the fund this year in a bid to expand capacity, improve safety, quality and efficiency of regional and rural health care services.Established in 2016, the fund has not only improved regional health, but has created more than 400 construction jobs.Rural and regional hospitals, health services and agencies can make submissions until Friday, December 16.
