1500 at rodeo’s long-awaited return

“We had 220 competitors and over 1500 people watching.”

Events started at 9.00am and finished at 8.30pm, with both junior and senior horse riders, and senior bull riders, loving the venue beside the Bundalong Tavern alongside the Murray Valley Highway.

Mr Butler expressed his thanks and appreciation to stock contractors extraordinaire Garry and Anna McPhee of Australian Professional Rodeo Association for their handling of the stock, with Mr McPhee saying: “Rodeos will go on forever. It’s just such an adrenaline rush for a competitor, they just love it. And it’s something not everyone does.”

“I say a big thank you to the local community for getting behind this rodeo which was the biggest one for ages,” Mr Butler said.

“My aim is to have a rodeo here to attract five to eight thousand people when all the infrastructure is built with council’s approval.”
