Windy conditions fuel rapidly moving fire in rural Qld

The QFES said residents in Tara, 300km west of Brisbane, should prepare to leave.

"A fast-moving fire is burning near Males Drive. It is travelling towards Surat Developmental Road," it warned.

"Conditions could get worse quickly."

The fire is likely to impact the community in the coming hours and firefighters and firefighting aircraft are in the area working to control the fire. 

More than 20 structures, including homes and shed, were impacted by a different fire when it swept through Tara in February.
