Senior Liberal MP Elise Archer, who has held the attorney-general role since 2018, is the subject of an independent review.
The Australian newspaper reports workplace complaints have been raised by two current or former staff members with the state anti-discrimination commissioner.
It is also reported Ms Archer criticised Premier Jeremy Rockliff and his predecessor Peter Gutwein in text messages.
"A matter has been raised with me through a third party. I have set in train a process where that matter will be independently reviewed," Mr Rockliff said in a statement.
"In the interests of procedural fairness it is inappropriate to provide any further comment."
Ms Archer and the office of the anti-discrimination commissioner have been contacted for comment.
Labor MP Dean Winter said Ms Archer should be stood down while any investigations take place.
"Given the seriousness of these allegations, Jeremy Rockliff can't guarantee the safety of staff in the attorney's office while Ms Archer is still there," he said.
In 2022, Mr Rockliff pledged a "zero tolerance" approach after a review of parliamentary and ministerial workplaces found there was a problematic underlying culture which allowed negative and unlawful behaviours to flourish.
Ms Archer was elected to parliament in 2010 and also holds the justice, workplace safety and consumer affairs and arts portfolios.
She has reportedly not been made aware of details of the allegations but said she always strives to provide her team with a healthy and happy workplace.
