Video footage shows one of the men wielding an object towards two Northern Territory police officers in plain clothes who point guns at his head and body.
The man can be seen in the back seat of a blue four-wheel drive during the incident outside the store in Coolalinga on Thursday afternoon.
One of the officers was standing on the bonnet of a white Toyota four-wheel drive that appears to have been rammed into a blue car, pinning it against a wall.
A second man seated in the front seat of the blue four-wheel drive remains with his head down and hands on the steering wheel during much of the footage.
"It's all going on. Welcome to the NT brah," a voice can be heard saying in the background of the video, which was posted to social media.
Uniformed police with dogs and armed plain-clothes officers watched the events unfold from a distance.
A smashed grey hatchback with significant damage to its front end can also be seen in the video as members of the public drive by.
NT police later identified the two men inside the blue car as a 30- and 31-year-old who had warrants issued for their arrests.
Police said charges were expected to be laid on Friday and there were no serious injuries to the men, officers or any members of the public in the confrontation.
However, a bystander's vehicle was damaged as the men allegedly tried to evade police.
