Five more local government areas - Bogan, Brewarrina, Dubbo, Parkes and Parramatta - will be eligible for the assistance.
It means 49 of 128 council areas across the state are now accessing disaster relief.
Federal Emergency Management Minister Murray Watt said the impact of the weather that caused flood across NSW and Queensland is still being felt.
"So we need to make sure that appropriate assistance is available as more damage becomes apparent, Mr Watt said.
NSW Emergency Services Minister Steph Cooke said her state would keep working with Canberran to put more money and resources into recovery efforts.
The disaster assistance means people can access up to $1000 in recovery payments, businesses can access low rate loans and councils will get financial help for clean up efforts.
It comes as Lismore residents were told they won't have extra flood boats stationed in the town even as meteorologists predict another wet summer.
Lismore was one of the hardest-hit towns, with 13 people killed across the Northern Rivers and Hawkesbury-Nepean region.
State Emergency Service commissioner Carlene York on Friday told a budget estimates hearing the boats were available but they wouldn't be based in Lismore.
"It's important to note that the (incoming) weather conditions are quite different than what we had in the February-March floods," Ms York said.
