Man killed in off-road quad bike, motorbike collision

The 27 year old was riding a quad bike when he collided with a 24-year-old male motorcycle rider.

Paramedics declared the quad bike rider dead at the scene while the motorcycle rider was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital in a serious condition. 

He has since been flown interstate for treatment.

The section of track where the crash occurred, near Maryvale Road, roughly 35km south of the Stuart Highway intersection, remained closed on Saturday.

The Northern Territory Police Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the incident.
