The Silver Logie winner will take the stand in the Federal Court on Thursday as Bruce Lehrmann sues for defamation over the report aired on The Project in February 2021.
In the interview, Ms Higgins said the alleged rape occurred in the office of her then boss Senator Linda Reynolds in the early hours of March 2019.
Lehrmann has always denied any sexual contact between himself and Ms Higgins and is chasing Network Ten and Wilkinson in the Federal Court for damages.

Ten producer Angus Lewellyn has been interrogated for two days by Lehrmann's barrister Matthew Richardson SC.
He has faced claims he failed to properly check Ms Higgin's credibility and the reliability of claims she was pressured into staying silent about the alleged rape and that there were obstructions for police gaining CCTV footage of that night in Parliament House.
Under questioning, Mr Lewellyn admitted there was no proof Ms Higgins would lose her job if she went to police, but said this was a feeling she got from conversations with Senator Reynolds and her acting chief of staff Fiona Brown.
Lehrmann was charged in August 2021 over the alleged rape, but his criminal trial in the ACT Supreme Court was derailed by juror misconduct.
Prosecutors did not seek a second trial, citing concerns for Ms Higgins' mental health.
Lehrmann is also before Queensland courts accused of raping another woman twice in Toowoomba in October 2021.
He has not entered a plea, but his lawyers have indicated he denies the charges.
