I would appreciate a few lines in your next edition to thank the Deniliquin Community for their overwhelming support of the recent ‘Legless and Blind’ roadshow and making these events such a phenomenal success.
The Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group works hard to bring initiatives to the community to improve mental health literacy in our community.
Our goal is to make sure that people in our community never feel that they don’t know where to access help should they or a family member or friend require it.
We use several strategies to create these conditions, and one of the most important of these is collaboration.
These events would not have been as successful without the hard work of a dedicated group of Deni MHAG volunteers and the support of a number of organisations.
Thank you to the following;
Deniliquin Golf Club; Channel for Change; Deniliquin Local Health Advisory Committee; Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network; MyStep to Mental Wellbeing; Murrumbidgee Local Health District; Deniliquin and district Schools (all); Deniliquin Pastoral Times; 15212QN.
A special thank you also needs to go to Lourene Liebenberg who project managed these events from conception to execution.
Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group has several events planned for the second half of 2023 and we look forward to continued community support and attendance.
Yours sincerely
Alison Thorne
